JORDAN 23

Air Jordan 23 ( XX3) - The Air Jordan XX3/XXIII is the first basketball shoe to be made under the "Considered" ethos, meaning the shoe is made with the environment in mind, according to an article in Jet magazine. The shoe was constructed using the absolute minimum amount of adhesive to make it more environmentally sound, while the soles, which are designed from Jordan's own fingerprint, are made from recycled rubber. It is considered the most technologically advanced Jordan model to date, and according to Gentry Humphrey, the head of the Jordan design team, it may be the last actual Air Jordan. Starting at the toe, the toe cap has Jordan’s signature embossed. The side of the shoe features a stitched pattern that gives the shoes strength in addition to cosmetic effect. The tongue of the left and right are different for a first time with a jumpman logo on the right shoe and the number “23" embedded on the left shoe. The shoe also features a glittery glossy panel that covers the midsole body of the sneaker.

The shoe was released in three different colorways from January to February, with a limited edition release where 23 retailers around the world sold the shoe, before its national release in February. The Air Jordan 23 XX3/XXIII model had virtually eliminated the Jumpman logo. It is found only on the tongue of the right sneaker, and completely missing on the left sneaker, except on the ends of the shoelaces. It is one of the most complex and complicated shoes of its time and much research and development went into the shoe to find the perfect look and feel. An automotive quality painting process was used for the backside of the Thermo Plastic Urethane chassis is completed by an efficient robot arm to maximize the quality, consistency and durability of the paint and component. To help out with the environment, the outsole is composed of environmentally preferred materials that reduces the toxins and uses the Nike grind material from footwear outsole manufacturing waste.The same ingenuity and effort that went into the upper can be seen in the mid-sole/outsole. A full length Zoom Air sole unit was used to provide superior cushioning. Another noticeable feature is how light the shoe feels. Weighing in only at 15 ounces, the lightness of the shoe increases the agility and stability. One of the most important aspects of the Air Jordan 23 XX3/XXIII is its exterior and it is composed of many different materials and designs. Air Jordan XX3 (23)For the upper, a newly engineered technique that uses a machine to stitch the upper in 3-D form was implemented into design.

A very important aspect of the shoe is its high comfort level; a dual density sock liner offers full comfort while the recovery foam around the heel conforms to foot shapes to create a more custom fit. The reinforced quarter panels from and holds the exact shape and the breathable tongue allows air to escape, which keeps the foot cooler. The Air Jordan XX3 features some unique designs that add that special touch to the shoe. An imprint of Michael Jordan’s fingerprint is seen as the pattern on the outsole. More of Michael Jordan went into the shoe besides his fingerprint; his signature can be seen on the toecap, a nice touch added to the shoe. The handcrafted Micheal Jordan stitch pattern offers beautiful detailing and function.

JORDAN 22

Air Jordan 22 (XX2) - The Air Jordan XX2/XXII model, designed by Dwayne Edwards, was released on March 24, 2007. The aggressive and sharp design was inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Some technical features of the shoe include an updated visible, interchangeable independent podular system, a new metallic mesh for ventilation, the Air Jordan camouflage pattern printed in reflective 3M, and an updated traction system, based on an army general's stripes. There were two special editions of the Air Jordan XX2 model released. The first edition was released for Jordan's birthday on February 17. This edition featured an authentic Jordan Brand basketball leather. The second edition was the Omega model, part of the Alpha-Omega package. This model featured a laser-etched image of Jordan after he won his sixth NBA championship in 1998. An entirely new line of Air Jordan XX2/XXII shoes called the player editions or "PE" were released with these shoes worn by NBA players from the Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and Dallas Mavericks.

This Air Jordan model featured a new strap around the heel and ankle. When head designer of the Air Jordan XX2 D’Wayne Edwards knew the XX1 was heavy, so he had made the XX2 lighter. What caused this is the cutting of foam and midsole material also from the use of TPU composite shank plate. Jordan Brand has used the Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) on the Air Jordan XX1 and with the success they have also used it on the Air Jordan XX2. Unlike the past model using IPS the pods were a little difficult to remove, so on the Air Jordan XX2 the pods are square with a little tongue to pull them out. Also the interchangeable Zoom Air pod is double stacked, which reduces the cushioning hardness. Early samples of the Air Jordan XX2 had vents on the heel with stitching starting at the heel running almost through the toe box. Samples also had a removable strap, but Michael did not like the look of the strap so this was dropped. The shank plate is made from thermoplastic urethane which is also coated with paint containing metallic titanium.

With its incomparable strength-to-weight ratio and atomic number 22,”tensegrity” patterned titanium provides the ultimate in mid-foot and arch support. The XX2 is both lightweight and supportive. Thanks to an efficient sculpted design and ultra-stable extended heel counter. Like the technology, hidden beneath the wings of the F-22, molded TPU vents not only dissipate heat but follow the contours of your ankle for a better fit. The variable speed lacing system on the XX2 features durable titanium-coated eyelets and a remarkably effective lace-lock. A silver cap bearing the world’s most famous number shield, the toe of the XX2.

The triangular quilted pattern on the foam-backed collar and integrated seamless bootie, maximises both comfort and breathability. Even the XX2’s sock liner is hi-tech with its shock-absorbing heel pad and midfoot vent cutouts. A special triangular ventilation pattern and red woven metallic mesh help maximises air flow. Crafted from the clearest rubber available, the XX2’s outsole redefines sticky while permitting more natural foot movement with its saw-toothed edges. Enhanced traction pattern: Based on a sargeant’s stripes, the XX2’s innovative outsole offers the most effective multi-directional Jordan traction ever. Strategically mapped pods offer the last word in tuned cushioning performance by utilizing varying densities of foam along with Air and IPS technologies. IPS cushioning technology has evolved to a colour coded visible, interchangeable pillar, with either responsive double stacked zoom air or shock absorbing encapsulated air. The phylon midsole provides a responsive stance that works seamlessly with the XX2’s formidable cushioning firepower.

Air Jordan 21 (XXI) - Jordan Brand went with designer D’Wayne Edwards for the Air Jordan 21. The design of the Air Jordan 21 (XXI) is very simple compared to the other Air Jordan models. But like always, the Air Jordan 21 (XXI) was full of high tech materials. The design for the Air Jordan21 (XXI) model was inspired by the world's finest sport touring vehicles. The shoe features lower-foot air grilles, double-overlasted Phylon midsole, a carbon fiber shank plate and a seamless diamond-quilted booty. It also has an evolutionary tunable I.P.S. suspension system that lets the wearer choose between Zoom and Encapsulated air. With each year gone by, it is less likely that we will see Michael Jordan back in the NBA.

Knowing this, the Air Jordan 21 (XXI) was best described as being the DNA of a champion. Nothing new as far as inspirations go on the Air Jordan 21, which came from a Bentley Continental GT coupe (another car). The front of the Air Jordan XXI is said to look like the grill on the Bentley. The box that came with the Air Jordan
21 (XXI) was nice. The Air Jordan 21 (XXI) has two separate compartments for each shoe. Also, the shoes came with a bag that can hold your air Pods.

Some of the information and the profile on the Air Jordan 21 (XXI) released by Jordan Brand.

Air Jordan 20 (XX) - The Air Jordan 20 would launch in 2005, which means it was Nike and Jordan Brand’s 20th anniversary. Tinker Hatfield had not designed for Jordan Brand since the Air Jordan XV, but it was Gentry Humphries’, Footwear Business Director idea to have him design the Air Jordan 20 (XX). It took Tinker about five seconds before he responded with a yes.The specs on the Air Jordan 20 (XX) are insane, and since its Jordan Brand, you know already they were going to have the best technology. Some of the great qualities are: I.P.S.(Independent Podular Suspension) “pods”, internal shank plate, phylon mid sole,and a cool strap to make the shoe feel a little more “secured” to your foot. When the Air Jordan 20 (XX) released in 2005 a total of three colorways, plus a “Regional Pack”, that also contained three colorways and One pair of Lows and 3/4 model.

This revolutionary motorcycle-inspired model celebrated the legacy of Michael Jordan. Equipped with next generation IPS cushion, a spherical shape and a laser etched design representing immortalized symbols of Jordan on its lace strap and interior gave this shoe a unique look and performance. As well as being inspired by motorcycles this design was also in inspired bicycling shoes this is why the strap was placed in the center of the shoe over the laces it also helped to create a tighter fit and increased support. Each number on the back has a huge significance. Inspirations for the Air Jordan 20 (XX) came from custom trumpets, motorcycle tires and racing boots. David Monette, who designs custom trumpets and engraves designs better known as "lasering" was the cause of the Air Jordan 20 (XX) for having the lasering on the mid foot strap. Mark Smith, Nike’s laser expert came to design the midfoot strap. Air Jordan 20 (XX) Stealths Now if you look close on the mid foot strap on the Air Jordan 20 (XX) you will notice symbols. Each symbol represents an experience Michael Jordan has had in his life.

Air Jordan 19 (XIX) - the Air Jordan 19 (XIX) was designed by Tate Kuerbis, with Tate is Jason Mayden, Wilson Smith, Josh Heard, and Suzette Henri. The new steps taken in the design of the Air Jordan 19 (XIX) would need them all. Released in 2004 and modeled after the black mamba snake, this is the first Jordan release after his third, and final, retirement which came after the 2002-2003 NBA season. Two original colorways where released. Three regional colorways and three special edition colorways were released. They consisted of the East, West, and Midwest edition for regular and West, East, and Olympic for the S.E. (special edition). Inspiration for the Air Jordan 19 came from the deadliest snake in the world, the black mamba. When the black mamba feels threatened, it raises its body up in the air, shows its fangs, and makes a loud hissing sound. That alone intimidated many, does that sound like a familiar someone?. Never before seen on a basketball shoe was a material called tech-flex. This material is used in the automobile industry. Tech-flex is a material which can stretch, and since it is used on the Air Jordan 19 (XIX), it gave your foot the comfort you need.

The Air Jordan 16 (XVI)and 17 ( XVII), modified models came as “+”, and on the Air Jordan 18 ( XVIII ) modified models came as
Air Jordan 18 (XVIII.5 ) or 18.5. Now on the Air Jordan 19( XIX) modified models came as SE (which stands for Special Edition).In 2004 when the Air Jordan19 ( XIX ) released, five colorways and three were in a “Regional Pack”,Four Low models and four SE models were also released.Some great qualities of the Air Jordan XIX is a carbon fiber shank plate, phylon midsole, full-length zoom air unit, patent leather toe box, tech-flex upper, Velcro heel strap and plastic lace-locks. The Air Jordan 19 box was unique, and when you opened the box, it kind of broke from the middle, instead of the normal open from the top or side. Each shoe is in a Air Jordan net bag. The Air Jordan 19 (XIX) is used innovative materials. The upper section of shoe was developed in collaboration with Material ConneXion Inc. from a sleeving normally used in architectural applications for protecting PVC pipes from bursting. In theory, this allowed for a lace-less shoebecause the sleeving does not stretch, however the Air Jordan 19 (XIX) model did include a set of laces behind the sleeve to better secure the shoe.

JORDAN 18

Air Jordan 18 (XVIII) - The creator of the design of Air Jordan 18 (XVII) was Tate Kuerbis. A person that had been part of the Jordan footwear design team since 1999 and with Nike since 1995 so designing shoes was nothing new to Tate. Like always with the newest Air Jordan to release, Jordan Brand wanted to bring out the latest in technology. The Air Jordan 18 (XVIII) contained air vents, carbon comfort plate, hidden quick lace system, suede leather uppers and zoom air sole.The inspiration of the design is a combination of a number of things, sleek racing lines of the auto world, carbon fiber-based monocoque of F1 race cars, Race car driving shoes (rubber heel wrap) and Fine Italian dress shoes. The Air Jordan 18 (XVIII) was released in 2003 and was the shoe for Jordan’s last season. Jordan played for the Washington Wizards, but his knees didn’t hold up for all of the games. Jordan returned towards the end of the season and ended his career on April 16, 2003 in a loss against the 76ers. Though many would love to see Jordan back yet again, its pretty safe to say that Jordan has retired...for good.

Since the uppers were made out of suede, they did attract a lot of dust, dirt marks and scuffs. Also the soles and mid sole were made of rubber, and just like the Air Jordan V they collect dust, which can make someone slip and fall. If you played in an indoor gym, you were OK. On the Air Jordan 16 (XVI) and 17 (XVII) Jordan Brand would use the “+” for a modified model. The Air Jordan 18 (XVIII) used a (XVII) .5 or 18.5, which ever way you wanted to write them. Pretty much nothing changed except the removal of the cover, and the jumpman was now on the side of the shoe, also the date 1985-2003 was put on. The Air Jordan 18 did not come with a fancy carrying case, or CD but they did come with a nice slide out box, towel, brush, and an “Air Jordan XVIII Driver’s Manual” pamphlet. In 2003 the Air Jordan 18 released three models, two low models. Later in 2003 the Air Jordan XVIII.5 released in two color ways.

Air Jordan 17 (XVII) - the Air Jordan 17 (XVII) designed by Wilson Smith III. Around the time sketching was started, Michael signed Michael Phillips the musician. So one key element to the Air Jordan XVII was from Jazz music. If you look on them you will notice molded in jazz notes. Also, inspirations for the shoe once again came from a car, this time being an Aston Martin. Air Jordan XVII HistoryThe soles were said to come from a golf course Michael played at. Michael Jordan was President of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards. When the 2001-2002 season came, Michael resigned his position as President of Basketball Operations, but signed a player contract.

The Air Jordan XVII were nicely made, and they came equipped with a removable mid-foot strap, Zoom Air sole, dynamic-fit sleeve, hidden quick lace system, lace-locks, leather uppers and carbon-fiber sheath. When you purchased the Air Jordan 17, you got a nice metal carrying case and a CD. The price tag on the Air Jordan XVII had most people in shock, $200.00!. The highest ever for a pair of Air Jordans.In 2002, when the Air Jordan XVII released four color ways, three low models and three mules.

Air Jordan 16 (XVI) - The Air Jordan XVI was released on February 17, 2001 - Jordan’s 38th birthday. This shoe was the first to not be designed by Tinker Hatfield in over a decade, yet it brought together the best pieces of shoes Tinker designed. Wilson Smith III stepped in to be head designer of the Air Jordan 16. Wilson’s plan with the XVI was to add all of the main elements from the past Air Jordan models into one. Check the patent leather on the toe box (Air Jordan XI), ribbed leather gaiter (Air Jordan XIV), 3/4 mid cut (Air Jordan III), mesh uppers (Air Jordan V) and clear rubber soles (Air Jordan V, VI, XI). The Air Jordan XVI is the first model in the line to have a gaiter or shroud. The gaiter is removable, which made them look like a brand new shoe. Also the Air Jordan XVI is a tight fit with the gaiter’s on.

The Air Jordan 16 i
XVI s very lightweight it has a great quality’s like a blow-molded Air unit in the heel, Zoom Air in the forefoot, thermal properties, breathable ballistic mesh upper and patent leather. When the Air Jordan 16 first hit shelves in 2001, a total of four color ways and also two low models were released. A lot of Samples and Player Exclusive were also issued as well. The return of the patent leather gave the Air Jordan 16 a dress look, which people wore with tuxedos (same on the Air Jordan XI), but of course the Air Jordan XVI was not as popular as the Air Jordan XI. The Air Jordan XVI’s hit the shelves following the successful (though ugly) Air Jordan XV. Jordan Brand found that Jordan didn’t need to wear the shoes in the NBA to be on the hot list of every other American teenager.

JORDAN 15

Air Jordan 15 (XV) - the first Air Jordan model released after Jordan's 1999 2nd retirement from the NBA, it shared a similarity to the Air Jordan IX in that Jordan never played professionally in the shoe. There was also concern about the shoe's comfort. The tongue of the shoe stuck out to mimic Jordan's well known habit of sticking his tongue out while playing. The woven kevlar Jordan XV was modeled after the X-15. Since Michael Jordan retired once again, people started saying that the Air Jordan line should be discontinued. But of course, Tinker Hatfield, Michael and the other designers thought otherwise. It was time to look for inspirations, something different, something not previously used on another shoe. So the idea of the Air Jordan 15 would be to pay respect to Michael and his years in the NBA. The X-15 fighter plane came into mind at the moment.

This plane broke the speed records, and set its own at 4,502 miles per hour. The X-15 is the best there ever was, just like Michael. Rumor also has it that the tongue on the Air Jordan XV is inspired by Michael Jordan, since he always sticks his tongue out when he goes for a dunk, shot, or layup. The quality of them was terrible, the inner sleeve was too loose, and very uncomfortable. Some nice features of the Air Jordan XV are the hidden quick-lace system, seamless dynamic-fit sleeve, Kevlar mesh uppers, Zoom Air sole, rubber herringbone pods, injected TPR external heel counter, and a breathable leather pattern. This was to be the last Air Jordan model design Tinker Hatfield's last Air Jordan but would later came back to design the Air Jordan XX model. This Air Jordan model however is widely recognized as being somewhat of a failure in terms of performance and style. Three pairs of low Air Jordan XV and a total of four color ways were released 1999-2000.

Air Jordan 14 (XIV) - The Jordan XIV was modeled after Michael Jordan's tatee with its sleek design and logo. There are over nine colors of the Air Jordan XIV model including his Chicago Bulls uniform colorway, white, red and black.It is regarded as the best Jordan in terms of performance even when compared to current basketball shoes. As an added feature, there are seven Jumpman logos on each shoe, and 14 overall on the pair. The black/varsity red - black version is sometimes referred to as the "Last Shots" because Jordan was wearing them during Game Six of the 1998 NBA Finals when he made the game-winning shot over Utah Jazz forward Bryon Russell to clinch the championship for the Chicago Bulls. It was the only time in Jordan's professional career he wore this particular model. At the time Michael owned a Ferrari F355F1. The design of the Ferrari F355F1 looks exactly like the shield on the Air Jordan XIV, and the vents on the side of the Ferrari F355F1 were also used on the Air Jordan XIV.

In 1998-1999 five color ways released of the Air Jordan 14 and three low models. In 2005-2006 a total of ten color ways re-released of the Air Jordan XIV and two low models re-released. With all the good qualities of the Air Jordan XIV you might think nothing could go wrong with them, but sadly there are a couple minor flaws. The toe box area would come unglued over time. Also the teeth on the sides (phylon midsole) would crease very quickly.The Air Jordan 14 was the first to have silver tips on the laces, which also had a Jumpman logo. Each pair had a total of seven jumpman logo’s, which together equals out to fourteen (XIV). Original Air Jordan XIV (14)Low profile Zoom Air Units were located at the forefoot and heel. If your feet sweat while you play, then the vent on the side should help out.

Air Jordan 13 (XIII) - The Air Jordan XIII's were released in 1997. This model was designed by Tinker Hatfield and were known for its cushioning along with breath ability. They were re-released in 2005, which coincided with the release of the Air Jordan XX shoe The inspiration for the XIIIs were based on the black panther. If you look at the bottoms, the sole looks like a panthers paw. By the heel of the Air Jordan 13 was a circle hologram. If you look close you will see the number 23, a basketball, and the Jumpman logo. In 1997-1998 five models of the Air Jordan XIII was released and two low models. Jordan Brand re-released the Air Jordan XIII including six color ways in 2004-2005. Also six color ways of the Air Jordan 13 lows were re-released in 2005 and two different color ways of cleats also released. The sole of the Air Jordan 13 is one of the most unique soles ever released in the Jordan line.

Air Jordan 12 (XII) - On the Air Jordan 12 Michael wanted a different look with his number 23. So an idea came to Michael Jordan to have 23 written down the tongue, written like this: Two 3. A new year means a new shoe design from Nike and Air Jordan. Nike Basketball was heading into a different direction with foamposite, shox, and big air bubbles in shoes.The Air Jordan XII was inspired by "Nisshoki", (the Japanese flag) and a 19th century womans' dress boot. Initial public perception was a disappointment. However, featuring gold-plated steel lace loops, embossed lizard skin pattern and zoom air, this model set a new direction in style and technology in shoe design. Though not as light in weight as previous models, the construction and firmness of the shoe is widely considered to be the most durable and sturdy shoes from the Air Jordan line ever made.

This shoe known as "OG's' came in 5 colorways and was released on March 13. This shoe was also designed by, one of the top Jordan designers of the Jordan Brand. This shoe will release in December 2008 with the Eleven as the final countdown pack. In addition, the Twelve was combined with the Thirteen numbered Jordan to produce the 12.5. A lot of good qualities were on the Air Jordan XII, they had the Zoom Air unit, the first Air Jordan to have a Zoom air unit, modified herringbone pattern for improved traction and a more improved carbon fiber shank plate. In 2003 two color ways and a pair of Air Jordan XII cleats released. A couple months later an Air Jordan XII package was sold which came with the Air Jordan XII, hoody and hat which sold for $200 online. 2004 was now here and four color ways came out of the Air Jordan XII, which went for $135.00, and three Air Jordan XII lows dropped selling for $115.00.

JORDAN II

The Air Jordan XI - model was designed by Tinker Hatfield. While Jordan was still pursuing a career in baseball, Hatfield designed the shoe in hopes that Michael would eventually wear it if he returned to the NBA. The Air Jordan 11 are loved by many sneaker enthusiasts and are always a sell out. Air Jordan XI History Michael Jordan was now back in the NBA, and the Air Jordan XI was his shoe for the 1995-1996 season. But before Michael Jordan wore the model, Tinker had to design them. Tinker Hatfield thought that Nike should pull out all the stops and make a shoe out of materials that had never been used in a basketball shoe. At first, Tinker was thinking of using some high-end nylons, but good thing he changed his mind. Tinker wanted the Air Jordan 11 to look like a convertible, with a shiny body, so that is why the Air Jordan XI had patent leather. Not only was it the patent leather on the Air Jordan XI made them special, but the addition of a lightweight Phylon midsole with a full-length Air-Sole unit and full-length carbon fiber plate, as well as being supportive. But sadly, there were some defects in them.For the look of the shoe itself, Tinker was (like always) thinking of some inspirations. when Tinker saw a yellow lawn mower you wonder how he fit that into the Jordan 11.

In 1995-96 playoffs, Michael had a bad spill wearing the AJ XI, and the reason being is poor traction. Also the midsole would get creases very fast.The Jordan XI was meant to stand out with a fusion of performance and style. Taken from the world of high-end mountaineering backpacks, the condura nylon upper gave the Air Jordan XI model lightweight durability. Further innovation came with the use of a carbon fiber plate on the sole of the shoe, that can be seen underneath the clear outsole, which gave the shoe exceptional torsional rigidity. The most visually distinct aspect of the shoe was its shiny patent leather mid and toebox. A material long used in the fashion industry, patent leather was extremely lightweight, when compared to genuine leather, and also tended not to stretch - a very useful property to help keep the foot within the bounds of the shoe bed during quick direction changes on the court. The shiny leather gave the XI what many described as a "formal" look - a fact that many owners of the shoe took advantage of thereafter, pairing the shoe off the court with business suits in substitution for dress shoes. Boyz II Men wore black and white Air Jordan XI shoes with white suits at one of their concerts.

Air Jordan 11 came out in 1995. Three mids were released, and two I.E. lows. Only five pairs of the Air Jordan XI “Space Jams” were made for Michael, for the movie Space Jam. Five colorways re-released in 2001-2002. Eight Air Jordan XI lows were released in 2001 and two I.E. lows were released in 2003. In 2006, a Defining Moments Package was released which contained the Air Jordan XI and Air Jordan VI.
Jordan wore the Air Jordan XI model to help the Chicago Bulls claim the 1995-1996 NBA championship. The legacy of the shoe was transferred to the silver screen as Jordan wore a black/white/blue colorway of the Air Jordan XI model in the 1996 Warner Bros. animated movie "Space Jam". Which was then fined for $5,000 for not respecting the bulls colorway policy.

AIR JORDAN 10

The Air Jordan X - represents an important landmark in Jordan's basketball career. This represents Jordan's first retirement from the NBA. Inscribed on the soles of the shoes is a list ofJordan's accomplishments up to 1993. Michael Jordan was now away from the game of basketball, and he began a relatively short lived career in baseball. Air Jordan X History, Many people thought the Air Jordan line was done, even Nike, but Tinker Hatfield had a different thought. The Air Jordan 10 was the first model that Michael Jordan did not approve, he had talked to Tinker at the beginning stages of development, but nothing was set in stone. The quality of the shoe was up to par with huarache inner sleeve, leather uppers and quick lace system, but something was not right with them.

On the sole of the Air Jordan X Tinker and Nike listed Michael’s milestones for every year in the NBA from 1985 to 1994 which are:
* 85 ROOKIE OF YEAR
* 86 63 POINTS
* 87 SCORING TITLE
* 88 DUNK CHAMP
* 89 ALL DEFENSE
*90 SCORES 63 POINTS
* 91 MVP/CHAMPIONSHIP
* 92 MVP/CHAMPIONSHIP
* 93 MVP/CHAMPIONSHIP
* 94 BEYOND

When the Air Jordan X was released, a lot of the models had a strap of leather going across the top of the toe, but then Nike came out with a clean-toed version. When Michael returned to the NBA he did wear the Jordan 10, with his new number “45" on the side. In 1994 when the original release of the Air Jordan 10 came out, a total of three models released, and a regional pack which had five different color ways representing five selected teams. Those lucky teams are - Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Seattle Supersonics and the Chicago Bulls, and a pair of Air Jordan X cleats were released, When 2005 hit Jordan Brand knew it was time to re-release the Air Jordan X, a total of 7 color ways and two of them were for women. Since Tinker and the people at Nike really thought that Michael Jordan was hanging the towel up for good, they wanted to show appreciation to what Michael had accomplished in his career.

JORDAN 9

Air Jordan 9 (IX) - In 1992-1993 when Tinker Hatfield and Nike started working on the Air Jordan 9, Michael Jordan was in Asia to promote for Nike. Tinker was really influenced by Japanese design. There is a lot of features on the shoe that you may not know which came from the Japanese culture. According to Tinker, the Air Jordan IX represented the globalization of the Air Jordan brand name. Everybody around the world wanted to be like Mike. Originally released in November 1993, the Air Jordan IX model was the first Air Jordan model release after his retirement and Jordan never played a whole season of basketball with this model. This model was created in the form of baseball cleats that Jordan used when playing minor-league baseball. The white/black version of the Air Jordan IX model was worn by Jordan for one scene in the 1996 movie Space Jam.

Like the Air Jordan VIIs and VIII model's, the Air Jordan IX model featured an inner sock sleeve and nubuck accents. The sole featured different symbols and languages of different countries. The Air Jordan IX has been the shoe chosen to adorn Jordan's feet for his statue outside of the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. In Popular Culture, in the children's movie The Little Rascals one of the bullies chasing Alf Alfa and Spanky is
wearing a pair of Air Jordan IX.

JORDAN 8

The Air Jordan VIII was released to coincide with the 1992-1993 NBA season. Tinker Hatfield wanted the Air Jordan 8 to not feature a Nike sign. He thought the Jordan Brand was strong enough at this point to hold its own. Tinker brought up to Nike that the Jordan line was strong enough to start eliminating the Nike sign at the Air Jordan VI. After Tinker was done telling his story, Nike pretty much laughed in his face. It took a lot of time, and a lot of convincing to make this happen, but it finally went through. If you look at the Original Air Jordan VIII model you will notice there is no Nike sign.The Air Jordan VIII started a lot of talk through sneaker heads, basketball players, or people that enjoyed a pair of Nike’s. The design was crazy, the Air Jordan 8 also had a polycarbonate torsion plate, and to top it all off, the color ways blew people away. The eighth model of the Air Jordan was noticeably heavier than its predecessors. Its base was clearly close to that of the Air Jordan VII model, but it had a lot more details, including two crossover straps on each shoe and a furry Jumpman logo. Thus the Air Jordan VIII model became known as the "flower-power Air Jordan". This shoe was only made in three different color combination's. The shoes were produced in less quantity than the VII. The Air Jordan VIII was re-retroed in September of 2007 in its aqua and black/red color along with a navy and orange and a white and orange colorway.

JORDAN 7

The Air Jordan VII was released in late 1991. Tinker Hatfield created the Air Jordan VII which had many similarities with the Air Jordan VI model. The Air Jordan VII was unique because it used some of the Nike Huarache technology to create a shoe that really stuck to the consumer's foot. The visible air sole, the Nike Air logo, and the yellowing soles all were no longer featured on the Air Jordan VII. The Air Jordan VII model is also commonly known as the "Hares" because the commercials promoting the shoe featured cartoon character Bugs Bunny. Tinker Hatfield could be inspired by anything when it comes to the Air Jordan line.Tinker was in Portland, he saw a poster that was African art, influenced by an Afropop Worldwide. The person in the poster was playing a guitar shaped like Africa. Around the time when Tinker was ready to design the Air Jordan VII Michael sat down with him and mentioned that he wanted the shoe to “stay young and interesting, while remaining sophisticated”. Tinker had now went inside the store and asked to purchase the poster, but the owner did not want to sell it because he was advertising a radio show and the Afro pop music. Tinker had now told him he worked on the design of the Air Jordan line. The store owner decided to sell the poster to him for $15.

All the lines on the Air Jordan 7 were influenced by Western African tribal patterns, which were on the poster. The Air Jordan VII was also worn by Michael Jordan in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nike had made a special “Olympic” color way, and instead of the number “23? there was 9 on the back. Various retros of the Air Jordan VII were released in 2002, again in 2004, and again with different colors in 2006. Also in 2008 nike released a black and blue pair own by a senegalease cheikh mbacké, he ordered it for $600. He's the only one that has that color in the entire world.
